Time Trials FAQ’s – http://thepettit.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Time-Trials-FAQs.pdf
Time trials generally will begin racing at 8:30am, with an on ice warm up session from 7:30-8:00am. Time trials and the pack session training ice following races must generally conclude by 12:30pm. Every effort will be made to end racing early enough so there will be sufficient time for pack training sessions after time trials. The actual end time depends on the number of entrants and the distances raced that day. Every effort will be made to accommodate all racers wishing to race and all distances desired to be skated too. Please note the start time is subject to change and may need to be moved up earlier to accommodate the schedule, or, the number of skaters. In some instances, distances offered may have to be limited to certain ones on certain dates. The coaches, officials, and, Pettit staff will work together to optimize and balance the racing and training opportunities for the athletes. They welcome your requests and input.
The deadline for signing up for time trials is the Wednesday before races by 12 noon. Late entries may be accepted, time-permitting, by the hard, late entry deadline of 12 noon on Friday before races (note that late entries may not receive usual consideration in the draw, even if accepted). The race entry fee is $18.00(USD) per day. The fee for any entry received after Wednesday 12 noon is $28.00 (USD) per day and, the entrant will need to complete [the late entry registration form]. Scratches with a valid medical reason made completing the proper notification paperwork using the ISU form are accepted, though no refunds will be made. Scratches without proper notification to the officials in advance, and/or, without an acceptable reason, will be penalized by forfeiture of the entry fee, and potentially, by additional participation and financial penalties, particularly in the case of repeated occurrences.
